Hi All,
Has anyone taken advantage of the Premier Inn breakfast options? I'm looking into staying at one in London (likely Earl's Court, if we can book it fast enough); it will be me, my husband and two kids (ages 10 and basically 8 when we go). I know there are probably nice breakfast places in the area, but the convenience of just grabbing food at the hotel is enticing. The fact that the kids would eat free is also nice. I did some back of the napkin calculations and to break even with the price of PI breakfast, we would each get L5* per breakfast - which doesn't seem like a lot. So, yes, if anyone has any opinions or experience with the PI breakfast, I'd love to hear it.

We took advantage of the breakfast in Edinburgh. An unlimited continental breakfast was offered for I believe £7/$8.47. A cooked breakfast was £9.5/$11.50. We had the cooked breakfast and it was very good; eggs, sausage, beans, tomatoes (full English) as well as breads, fruit, yogurt, coffee, tea, juices. In London it will probably cost more, but the convenience of not having to go to wherever is worth any additional cost, especially if the children need to use the restroom, one needs to run back to the room, or the weather is bad. The specific PI hotel’s website should state the actual cost when making the reservation.

I have had it both in Southampton and near Heathrow. As I am gluten free, I took the full breakfast. Southampton's wasn't great...overcooked, but perhaps 5£ acceptable. Heathrow's was better as had yogurt, more fruit and a constant stream of replenished fresh cooked items. If I recall, the pancakes were a hit with the kids in the room.

I stayed at a Premier HUB last fall and had breakfast there. The HUB breakfast was £7 and included the items in a full English breakfast. It suited me just fine.

The Premier Inn breakfasts were always very good , having had them in the past. I particularly like hotel breakfasts since I can go back to the room afterwards to clean up and be ready for the day .

I always get the breakfast when travelling with kids. It’s cheaper than anything else you would find (coffees alone at least £2.50 in cafes here), the food is fine, not amazing but fine, and kids love it. It’s convenient as well because otherwise you have to get the kids fully dressed and everything sorted for the day just to go out and get breakfast.

We didn't get the breakfast but with kids, you would struggle to find anything as cheap. Most families who stay there do get the breakfast from my experience.

The breakfasts are fine with plenty of food.
If you stay at the Earls Court location there are number of places to get breakfast within a block. (Near the tube station):
Pauls, Greggs, Leon, Pret a Manger, Over Under Cafe, McD's, Burger King and a couple of pubs serving a full English.
But the deal at the PI is best especially since it is all you can eat. You can get the breakfast after you arrive. After the first one you can see what else you might like in the area.

I’ve had them in a number of locations, quite good and I enjoy the time at the hotel having the breakfast while planning my day as I don’t have to get dressed beforehand.
If I’m at a Premier Inn, I’ll usually get the breakfast if I have heavy sightseeing plans and will only be doing a very light lunch. Other days, it’s light breakfast somewhere outside the hotel and then a bigger lunch.

The family with two kids aged 11 and 13 regularly stop in Premier Inns and the breakfast is the highlight. The kids probably eat more than the parents and demolish a huge plateful of the cooked breakfast, along with pancakes and anything else they can lay their hands on! It is very good value considering kids eat free.

I don't bother as the quality isn't very good but with young kids it's probably worth it as they're less fussy.

I just booked our hotel reservation - Premier Inn County Hall. This had been my first choice but was unavailable yesterday. Somehow this morning there were rooms, so after a five minute internal debate about the merits of County Hall and Earl's Court, County Hall won out. I'm excited to watch the boys cross Westminster Bridge! We did get the breakfast; as a lot of you mentioned, it seemed like the cheapest and most convenient option.

That hasn't been my experience JC. I've always enjoyed the breakfast. If anything Kid's can be a lot fussier than the adults....

We always enjoy the Premier Inn breakfasts. I was born in England, so it’s a pleasure to have British bacon as well as beans with my breakfast. In the UK you can get beans with any meal!

I'm staying at the Hub Westminster Abbey for 9 nights and was wondering about their breakfast also so thanks for the info ... was also looking at going to the Royal Artisan Bakery on Petty France (a short walk from the hotel) when we need to get moving and no time for a sit down breakfast ... looks decent enough, has anyone been there and, if so, what did you think? ... thanks.

The breakfast at the Hub is different. It’s only £5 per person but doesn’t include any cooked items, just pastries, toast, cereals and fruit. I like the Hub brand. There’s no tea and coffee in the rooms but you can help yourself for free in the lobby area at any time.

I’m sure all the Hubs I’ve stayed at have offered the full range of breakfast items. Maybe different places offer different things so would be good to check.

There's nothing wrong with breakfast. However the Premier Inn breakfast is cooked with poor quality ingredients. Personally I didn't like it, others do, it's all subjective. Some people are happy to eat at a Wetherspoons or a Toby Carvery, others aren't, each to their own. The OP asked for opinions on the PI breakfast, I gave mine.

I stayed at Premier Inn County Hall in 2017. Great Location - It is next door to the London Eye and within walking distance to Waterloo Station, Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace and many other locations. Westminster Tube station is on the other side of the bridge so it is easy to reach areas farther out. I did not purchase the breakfast option however I did purchase the full breakfast several time and it was very good. All you can eat eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, beans, veggies, cereals, yogurts, breads, pastries, coffee, tea, juice, etc. Well worth it. Enjoy!!!!

We’re also staying at the Hub Westminster Abbey, and it advertises the continental + hot food choices for 7£.

I have stayed at lots of the standard Premier Inn's and also the Hub hotels in London. The breakfast service is different in both, the Hub hotels have a simpler scaled back version of the breakfast whereas the standard hotels have a full breakfast service with full cooked options as well as continental lighter options.

Recently stayed at a Premier Inn in Aberdeen (not in England, sorry, but PI's are everywhere). The place was very clean, and breakfasts were excellent, coffee was excellent, fruits, yoghurt, etc excellent. Eggs, not so great, but acceptable - had better black pudding too, but I had theirs every day. I can't run around looking for food when I get hungry, and appreciated their convenience. You can pay on the spot, which is what I did except the first day. All for 9.99 GBP!
No I do not get kickbacks, but perhaps I should.

I recently stayed at the Premier Inn County Hall and we ate the breakfast! Very good, we had no complaints. (We also had dinner there a few times which was hit and miss. One night very good, the next night they must have been very short staffed because service was a disaster.)
But I recommend the hotel, we had no real complaints. It is within walking distance of a lot of things, and several tube stops are very close.

@phoffen2001 - thank you for posting. I’ll be there in a couple weeks and was unsure about breakfast. I’m normally not a breakfast eater but jet lag sometimes changes my eating pattern. Good to know I can decide last minute.
